Business Aviation Flying:
Corporate aviation opportunities in one place.

Business aviation is a different world from the big airlines. The aircraft are smaller, the teams are tight, and every flight is individual. AviatorJob helps pilots find business jet pilot jobs and helps operators find pilots who fit. Roles are posted straight to our board, no requirement to sign up and no recruiter in the middle to delay your application.

This enables your application to be verified and ensures that you meet the requirements set by the employer.

The Sector

What Is Business Aviation?

Business aviation means flying people on their own schedule, in a private aircraft. Passengers may be company bosses, families or charter guests. Flights often leave at short notice, so planning, flexibility, experience and good judgment are essential in this role along with excellent customer service skills.

You may work for:

A company flight department

One firm, a small fleet and regular crews

A private owner

One aircraft, and a close link with the owner

A charter operator

Many clients and many types of trips

A management company

Running aircraft on behalf of owners
Private Jets

Flying Private Guests: Service as Well as Skill

Private jet pilot jobs require more than just flying skills. Guests expect calm, polite, and well-prepared crews that handle details quietly. You may greet passengers, plan fuel and routes, and handle last-minute changes.

The schedule can be less fixed than airline work. Some roles use rosters, while others need you on call. Each opportunity will highlight the essential information required to make an informed decision about any opportunity.

Corporate Flying

Company Flight Departments: Steady and Close-Knit

Corporate pilot jobs often require pilots who can be flexible and who are able to work as part of a small team. Operators vary depending on their operations. Some seek out permanent teams and some prefer to operate with contractors to give them flexibility.

AviatorJob helps to list all opportunities that exist whether it be permanent or contracted. Whatever the role may be, it will state the requirements and what is expected of each applicant so that a quick and informed application can be made whilst ensuring that operators receive only genuine applications.

Requirements

What Operators Usually Look For

Each operator sets its own rules, so always read the full job brief. Most ask for:

  • A commercial or airline transport pilot licence
  • An instrument rating and a valid medical certificate
  • A type rating on the aircraft, or a plan to gain one
  • A good number of total hours, and some turbine and/or multi-crew time
  • A calm manner, tidy appearance and good people skills
  • The right to work in the country where the aircraft is based

If you are a few hours short, apply anyway and explain your plans. Some operators will support a strong candidate with a bonded type rating course. For corporate jet pilot jobs, strong references and a clean record often count as much as hours.

Career Path

Build Your Career Step by Step

Many pilots start in instructing, but there are a variety of ways to gain experience required to go in whichever direction you desire. Gaining the hours and experience is essential to any successful career as a pilot and building on that can enable you to become a captain, chief pilot or head of flight operations. Adding type ratings and courses that align with the flight operations that you wish to pursue helps open more doors. If you are aiming for private jet pilot jobs, start by building hours, a good network and a strong CV.
