Devon Air Ambulance are seeking to recruit a HEMS TRE qualified Pilot (or possible TRI qualified Pilot) to join our experienced Flight Operations Team. 

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £79,500 – £86,500 per annum, as per the qualifications below:

– Single type TRI – £79,500 per annum
– Dual type TRI – £81,500 per annum
– Single type TRE – £84,500 per annum
– Dual type TRE – £86,500 per annum

While we are seeking pilots experienced on H145 or EC135, we are open to consider candidates who hold a TRE qualification, but are not current on EC135 or H145, dependent on experience. Increments awarded for HEMS experience based on service up to a maximum of £10,000 per annum with an additional night shift allowance of £100 per shift.

*Accommodation cannot currently be provided by DAATCL at the Exeter Airbase. You are therefore required to reside within a distance of 45 minutes from the Exeter Airbase or be able to establish and pay for your own temporary accommodation within 45 minutes from the Exeter Airbase for each of your shift runs from this airbase.

The Role

We have a new vacancy for a TRI/TRE HEMS Line Pilot to join our Flight Operations team at DAA. This role will report to the Senior Pilot and will work on a single pilot operation on behalf of Devon Air Ambulance Trading Company. The TRE HEMS Pilot will help ensure all aspects of pilot training and checking are conducted on time, efficiently and in accordance with the training plan. Our line pilots engage with day and night operations within an approved FTL shift pattern.

The Candidate

We are seeking a candidate who is an experienced TRI/TRE on H145 or EC135. You will have experience within HEMS or similar, and hold a UK CAA APTL (H)/CPL (H). The ideal candidate will have a total of 2000+ flying hours, and a minimum of 1000 hours PIC and 150 hours night with NVIS experience. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of leading the team when on duty.
